Global hotspots and correlates of emerging zoonotic diseases

Ecohealth Alliance publishes updated and improved map of emerging infectious disesases (EIDs). India and eastern China light up brightly, along with southern Japan, and certain zones in western Europe and elsewhere. This is where surveillance should be focused on.
2 new reports: antimicrobial resistance and EFSA zoonoses report
11 April 2013 | Official publications2 new reports have been published recently that are of relevance for the work that we do:
- a review 'Antimicrobial Resistance: Challenges and Perspectives' by Doyle et al.
- The European Union Summary Report on Trends and Sources of Zoonoses, Zoonotic Agents and Food-borne Outbreaks in 2011.
Both reports may be discussed at the upcoming TAFS meeting (April 24/25).
Two new important reports on zoonotic diseases
05 July 2012 | Official publicationsTwo new important reports on zoonotic diseases and options to address them (‘One Health’) have been published online. Both of them list the World Bank/TAFS livestock disease atlas in their references, underlining the usefulness of our work.
The reports will be presented in detail at the next TAFS meeting.
